She wandered the dark halls of place long past its time. She came upon a rotting avian, still. It deeply saddened the woman. She was overwhelmed. As the light beamed in, cutting the darkness, she noticed her shadow on a nearby wall.
As she pressed the shutter she was somehow comforted by her forever companion.
She reveled in that moment, between the light and dark.
